Kayaking Trips - staff activities Auckland New ZealandWe offer several trips: Paddle to the Pub - fun staff eventOur most popular kayaking trip! The perfect trip for groups and novices, this trip is very scenic, sheltered and it is usually not difficult to motivate people when the word "pub" is involved! Being close to Auckland, sheltered and with varied scenery, we highly recommend this trip. Paddling time is 1-1.5 hours at an easy pace. You get to choose from 2 kayaking trips, either meander your way along the Puhoi River (trip starts and finishes at Wendaholm Regional Park), to the Puhoi Pub. Or cruise up the Rangitopuni Creek (trip starts and finishes at Herald Island), to the Riverhead Tavern. Food can be ordered at the pub which you can enjoy while drinking an ale or two. The trip can be run after work, during the day or at weekends, but is high-tide dependent. They can also be run as a one-way trip for those groups who want to stay on at the pub. Just remember, if your doing a return trip, don't drink too much at the pub to avoid becoming a "D-I-C-K" on the way home - Drunk In Charge of Kayak!! Safety is our first concern. All trips are guided with the emphasis on enjoying the beauty of nature and the coastlines. No experience is needed! There is no guarantee on good weather. Sometimes, for your safety, trips will need to be postponed due to weather conditions. A fun event as a Christmas activity as it provides a bit of a challenge, but one that all your staff could manage - we also have a mix of single and double kayaks so if there is some not-so-confident people they can double with a guide or team member. Because the paddling is done in the same direction as the tide current, it doesnt require too much exertion and the break at the pub in the middle provides time for everyone to socialise together. Sea Kayak Day Trip to RangitotoExperience superb 360 degree views of Auckland and the Hauraki Gulf from the top of volcanic Rangitoto Island after a sea kayak crossing from St Heliers Beach. The trip across from St Heliers Beach takes one to one and a half hours at a cruisy pace. You will explore some of the volcanic coastline of the island before landing for morning tea. Walk to the top of the island for lunch (BYO). Depending on time, the walk back can include a side trip through the lava caves. With knowledgeable, experienced guides to look after you, you'll really enjoy this adventure. Discover fantastic sea kayaking destinations right on Auckland's doorstep that rivals those in other parts of New Zealand. Night Kayak to Browns / Motukorea IslandSummer time... long twilights... sunsets... and a spectacular panorama of the Auckland Harbour. Watch the sun set from the summit of Browns Island (Motukorea) and enjoy a picnic supper on the summit. Paddling at night is an amazing experience and the city lights create a magical backdrop as you quietly paddle home. An evening you'll always remember. This trip runs during daylight savings months. These events are suitable for groups of 4-16 people - larger groups can be accomodated with notice
