Cruise on a Square Rigged Sailing Ship - Corporate Event

Take the helm of this magnificent tallship, help the crew set sail, climb aloft – or just sit back, relax and enjoy the spectacle of tallship sailing. The Soren Larsen is one of the last cargo carrying ships constructed entirely of oak. She traded under sail carrying cargo and grain as late as the 1960’s. The ship has become a film star in numerous productions and has sailed over 150,000 nautical miles. You and your clients can participate in the sailing to the degree that suits them if they wish.

Food & drinks A buffet style christmas dinner is included with this event. Licensed bar is available on the ship.

Guests We can take a maximum of 90 guests for harbour cruises, and a maximum of 120 guests for alongside the quay functions. For smaller groups we can fit you in with existing bookings as a shared charter.

Crew 13 uniformed crew will welcome guests aboard, handle lines and set sails aloft, and where appropriate, talk on the vessel’s history.

Cruise Times For afternoon or evening charters four hours are recommended to take full advantage of the ship under sail, but we endeavour to schedule sailing times to your requirements.

Music Live music is available from classical to jazz or pop (not included in the price below). Alternatively the ship’s own music system takes CDs or tapes.

Awnings Deck awnings ensure that events are safe from interruption by weather.

Safety Fully surveyed to NZ and UK MSA standards and carries comprehensive safety equipment.

This event is only available during the period Soren Larsen is in Auckland which is usually between late November and early February so it makes an ideal client function over the summer months. Different menu options are available to suit your budget.

NB: Also available in the Bay of Islands.
