Harbour Sail Christmas Function - Auckland

If you want to treat your staff or clients to a Christmas function that they will really appreciate, why not take them for a sail on an Americas cup yacht? NZL 40 and NZL 41 are America's Cup Class yachts, both built for the 1995 America's Cup in San Diego. The yachts offer a unique opportunity to experience sailing an authentic America's Cup grand prix racer, the equivalent in motor racing of driving a F1 race car on Auckland Harbour - New Zealand's yachting playground. Your two hour sailing experience starts in the Viaduct Harbour where you meet the professional crew and are taken through a short safety briefing. The yacht then heads out to the harbour. The sails are hoisted and your staff become the crew, encouraged to take the helm, exert energy on the grinders or simply sit back and enjoy the action as you sail an America's cup yacht down the beautiful Auckland Harbour.

This is a very popular client event as it provides good opportunities to communicate with clients while enjoying an experience they might not otherwise have the chance to try.

This event is suitable for groups of up to 60 people

Match Race Christmas Function

NZL 40 now has a racing partner NZL 41. Now not only can you experience the thrill of sailing an America's Cup Yacht, you can participate in racing on one.

This three hour experience begins in the Viaduct Harbour where you meet the professional crew and get taken through the safety and race briefing. The yachts will then depart to the harbour where passengers will take their positions for a brief period of practice. The experience then really begins as the two Yachts line up under international match racing pre-start conditions, just like in the America's Cup and compete head to head. Passengers will be involved in the racing, calling tactics, grinding, and even protesting the offending yacht!
The trip is suitable for people 10 years and older from all experiences and abilities. Participation is encouraged but not a requirement.

Even if you have never sailed before by the time you hop off NZL 40 or NZL 41 you will be an expert guaranteed!

This event is suitable for groups of up to 50 people.
